Below we will show you how to download the thumbnail images and create a trackable link. You will then join the two in your chosen media to create a linked image.

• If you are unable to embed video content into your intranet page, a trackable thumbnail image could be a workaround to bring users into the CXI experience.
• Use the thumbnail image in an external email message or as part of an email signature.

How to create a trackable thumbnail

1. Select the Communicate Journey you want to create a trackable thumbnail image for.
2. Go to the Content Experience section and select the content you want your trackable thumbnail image to link to. Hover over the bottom of that piece and content and click the link icon on the left.
3. In the edit window, go to the Share tab, and under Thumbnail click the Download button, It will be downloaded as a PNG format image to your computer.

4. Go to the Campaign section and click the Add New You will select Trackable Asset as the message type.

5. Create a title for this asset to locate it quickly in the campaign timeline. Name it something like “Trackable Thumbnail – Email,” In the notes, you can make a note like “Trackable Thumbnail for Email Signature, for 401k Video for tax season” so you can keep track of what this message was created for.

6. In Destination select the content you just downloaded the thumbnail for.

7. Copy the web link.

You now have the two elements, the trackable link, and the downloaded thumbnail, to create a trackable thumbnail. You must link the two in whatever media you decide to place it. We have included the instructions for using a trackable thumbnail in your email signature.

Add a trackable thumbnail to an email message

1. Follow steps 1-7 above.
2. Then, go into your email signature in your email system, for example, Outlook.
3. In a draft email, click the Insert tab and Picture. You will select the thumbnail image you downloaded in step 3 and click Insert.
4. You can resize it, if needed by moving on the sides of the image.
5. Right-click on that image and select Link.
6. Paste the web link you copied from your trackable asset in step 7 from the instructions above.
7. Test it out in the draft email by clicking the image to see if it links correctly.
8. Also send a test email to yourself as well, to ensure the link and layout are correct.
9. Direct your audience to act by including a call to action in the email. Something like, “Click image to watch video.”

Note: If you don’t have access to your intranet, talk to your IT department if you need assistance embedding images and linking them to a trackable URL.
