Introduction

The Call to Action button, or CTA button, is an effective tool that encourages your employees to take action from the content experience after they have viewed journey content describing their choices. The CTA button generally links to a URL outside of Tivian Communicate XI.

Appearing below the media after it has played or been viewed, the CTA button can be configured to take an employee to a registration site, or to another website to provide further information.

When an employee clicks on the CTA button, another browser window will open and they will be taken to the configured URL. Each piece of content can have its own individual CTA button within the Communicate Journey, or be hidden completely.

Setting up a default Call to Action button

1. Start in the Experience section of a Communicate Journey and click on the pencil icon in the Defaults area at the top.

3. Include the URL you want to send the viewer to, once they click the label. (Valid links must contain a valid URL scheme prefix, such as https:// or mailto:. Examples of full URLs include https://www.example.com and mailto:address@example.com.)

4. Once you have finished, click Save. This default URL will now appear when you are in the edit window of a piece of content, as an option.
